Which Voice Are You Hearing?
October 22, 2020, 2:27 PM

In the middle of World War II, a soldier in Europe discovered an old phonograph and a record.  The recording was of Enrico Caruso, considered at the time to be the greatest singer in the world.  That evening, as the platoon sat around the tent listening to the scratchy record on the beat-up phonograph, there were two different groups of listeners.  Many heard only the scratches on the record.  But others, who listened more carefully, heard the master’s voice.

In this world there are plenty of scratches—vexations and disappointments that will lead you to frustration and discouragement.  Or, as you face the challenges of your day, you can hear the Master’s voice:  “The Lord’s love surrounds those who trust Him” (Psalm 32:10).  “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Cor 12:9).  “Overcome evil with good” (Rom 12:21).  “So do not fear, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10).  Which voice are you hearing?

Looking forward,

Pastor Ron Prosise
