The Road Ahead
January 12, 2021, 3:24 PM

As we enter into a new year, Proverbs 4:18 is well worth considering: “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.”  What an intriguing way to describe the Christian life—as a path, a road.  It’s a word picture that is used frequently in Scripture.  When I lived in Colorado, it was near Interstate 70 that runs through the state from east to west.  Coming from Kansas, this road is flat and straight.  But as it reaches the Rockies, there is a change.  It turns into a very different road as it becomes a mountain pass – you can’t see that far ahead with its ups and downs and its curves and bends.

Last year was full of a lot of twists and turns.  It was a challenging journey.  But the confidence we have is that the Lord promises to guide his people “in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3).  Sometimes that means going through very dark valleys (Psalm 23:4).  But you can trust God’s wisdom and love as you as you rely on His grace and strength for the journey.  He is faithful and knows where He is taking you.

Looking forward,

Pastor Ron Prosise
