I love this quote by Puritan Thomas Watson, “The more the diamond is cut, the more it sparkles.” I was reminded of that when I spoke with Pastor Ron Jackson on the phone just now. He is a brother who truly sparkles with the love and joy of the Lord. He shared with me that he preached last Sunday from Hebrews 12 on the subject of God’s discipline. Yes, His discipline can be painful, not pleasant (v. 11). But its good purpose is to produce a harvest of righteousness in our lives.

When I asked Ron what he is excited about the Lord doing in his church, he said the faithfulness of his church members to reach out to the community. And when I asked how we could pray for him, he said to pray for the Lord to raise up more laborers in his church for the harvest (Matthew 9:38). Please pray with me for Pastor Ron and New Seasons Church. (And pastors, would you consider praying as a church this Sunday for Pastor Ron and his church? Thank you—this is something that I would like to start doing every week as a way to love and encourage one another.)

Looking forward,

Ron Prosise
