Zong Moa is the Pastor of Grace River City Church.  I asked him to share what the Lord is doing in his church during these times.  Read his response and be encouraged in your focus on Christ as He leads us through these challenging circumstances!

It’s been challenging for Grace River City Church. Our hearts yearn to come together to hear the voices of praise and worship to our Lord and to be in the current trenches together in-person. We are thankful that God provides an alternate avenue of worship and fellowship through the internet, but it could never substitute our calling to live out the faith and to represent the body of Christ. The Lord has been teaching the church to be more dependent on Him through prayer and perseverance, and to not forsake the fellowship of the saints, even if it’s through a digital platform. In times where the nation and the majority people calls for social distancing, and when working at home is becoming normalized, the sin of laziness begins to develop in all of us to when even our service to the Lord could become complacent. Let us use this opportunity to ready ourselves to give an answer for the hope that we have during this pandemic (1 Peter 3:15). We should not grieve and react as those who have no hope (1 Thess. 4:13). This is an opportunity to be a light like Paul and demonstrate our hope that, “To live is Christ, to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21).  And as we quarantine in submission and work and do ministry from home, let us work heartily as for the Lord and not for men, for it is the Lord whom we serve (Colossian 3:23-24). So as we wait for the quarantine to be lifted, we plan earnestly for the days we can meet again and preach the gospel without the overall fear of contamination.

In An Answer to Prayer From California Christians, Senators Stop AB 2218!

In an incredible answer to prayer, we can now report the breaking news that AB 2218 is DEAD for the year!

This would not have been possible without your support.

The dangerous and controversial bill would have funded "trans-affirming" treatments such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and mutilating surgeries and amputations. In addition to permanently destroying the reproductive systems minors and adults, these procedures often do nothing to alleviate the emotional and spiritual pain of those struggling with gender dysphoria.

The bill’s defeat comes after weeks of activism from the California Family Council and other like-minded conservative pro-family organizations that targeted the nine members of the Senate Health Committee.

California Family Council's CEO Jonathan Keller gave the following statement to the Los Angeles Times:

“The people of California spoke and the Senate Health Committee listened. Children and young adults who struggle gender dysphoria deserve true compassion and support, not untested procedures that cause irreversible damage. We thank God that California lawmakers heard the voice of their constituents and chose not to fund mutilating surgeries and sterilizing hormones.”

California Family Council helped lead a broad coalition of local and state organizations to oppose AB 2218. CFC also mobilized tens of thousands of Californians who voiced their concerns.

Undoubtedly, the rest of this year will bring more challenges. But TODAY is a reminder that God answers the prayers of His people. TODAY is a reason to give thanks to Jesus for His faithfulness and mercy!

For every person who made a financial contribution to CFC over the last several months, please accept our heartfelt thanks. Today's victory would not have been possible without your faithful generosity.

Every day, we work to advance God's design for Life, Family, and Liberty thanks to your prayers and partnership. All gifts to CFC are tax-deductible and very much appreciated. God bless you and your family!
