Network News for July 26, 2017

Please make note of the upcoming events where you need to register. We are planning meals and rooms/seating for these events, and we want to have an accurate count, or as close to it as possible. Thank you so much! Have a blessed weekend!

If you would like to help with this year's Senior Adult Conference, please email Terrie atSRBN@sacbaptist.org by the end of July. Thanks.

Please note: We no longer use the Remittance Advice Forms. When you send your monthly support to SRBN, your gift goes into the general fund. If you are giving a gift that is designated, please include a note or letter stating to which ministry it belongs.

SRBN Pastors: Call for an Ordination Council
Pastor Jon Nelson, Temple Baptist Church, reports the church has called for the ordination of Chris Kenney.
This is what Pastor Nelson said: "This is Jon Nelson, pastor at Temple Baptist Church. I have a
candidate for ordination into the ministry. His name is Chris Kenney. He is a member of our church
and has been led to enter the ministry and would like to be ordained. We have set him aside for the
past 6 months and used that time to examine him and make sure his beliefs are in line with the Baptist
    Faith and Message."
Please join us at Temple Baptist Church, 2600 Clay Stree
Sacramento, CA 95815, on Saturday, July 27th, at 11 am followed by lunch at the church. Please email Pastor Jon Nelson that you will be attending at jonthebaptist722@hotmail.com or call him at (916) 519-1977

California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Ministries (CSBDRM)

Disaster Relief is a popular and well-known ministry offered by the California Southern Baptist Convention, providing Christian love in action by meeting urgent needs of hurting humanity in crisis.  Whether serving hot meals from our mass feeding unit, assisting homeowners with cleanup and property recovery, or providing spiritual and emotional care to disaster survivors, CSBDRM meets those needs with loving care and in a timely manner.

CSBDRM has more than 1,500 active, trained volunteers and equipment ready for deployment at any moment.  This is a wonderful ministry that allows us as believers to interact with people from all walks of life and with many needs – both spiritual and physical.  Learn more about training opportunities and deployment efforts on our website and follow us on Facebook!  The website lists available dates to renew your expired certification or add additional trainings.

Community Disaster Ministry (CDM) is a relatively new ministry of Disaster Relief that assists churches in preparing to minister within their community when disaster strikes.  By connecting with local government agencies and partnering with other faith- and community-based organizations, churches can provide a needed ministry by offering emergency assistance, opening up cooling centers, or providing shelter sites and reunification centers.  CDM helps by reviewing facilities, ideas and plans for providing services that would be needed.  We provide training and resources to help them get set up.  Dawn Dwyer is our CDM liaison for churches to prepare to serve their communities in this way.  Dawn would be happy to provide information about how your church can become involved as a community resource.
