June 2025: E-News

Sacramento Association of Southern Baptist Churches

June 2025

Greetings to my fellow Sacramento Association members.

As I write this, I am actually in Georgia visiting with family and then will be traveling to Dallas, Texas for the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting.

I am reminded of the time of year we are in right now. Summer has traditionally been a time of vacation and outdoor activities. But I am also aware that it is during the summer months that many of our churches are busier than ever – between VBS, Children and Youth camps, mission trips, Outdoor outreach events, church picnics and fellowship events, etc. Let’s pray for each other that God would grant supernatural endurance for our leaders and a great harvest of people being exposed to and responding to the Gospel message.

Let’s be reminded of Paul’s admonition this summer:

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:15–17

I remember a statement I heard many years ago that has stuck with me over the years:

God has given us enough time every day to do everything He desires of us.

Please know I am praying for you – that you would about the business of seeking God’s will for your lives and then living it out. If I can be of help to you, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Pastor Steve

P.S. As you look over the events listed below, please give thanks for what God has already done and for what he is going to do in the days ahead.

Items of Interest

1. VBS Clinic

We had a wonderful VBS Clinic in March – attended by around 100 people. As we are into the summer months and many of our churches will be having VBS, we trust that the training they received at the clinic will be beneficial to their efforts to reach boys and girls with the Gospel.

A great big THANK YOU to Jeff Coburn and his team who faithfully led the clinic – you all are the best!

2. Evangelism Training Clinic

We were the host to an Evangelism Training Clinic in May put on by our state convention – where several dozen people were inspired, encouraged, and educated on the importance of making evangelism a priority in our lives and in our churches. Let’s pray for God to be made known in our area and people to come to faith in Jesus.

3. Women’s Conference

Our Women’s Ministry team recently held a successful conference in the Citrus Heights/Roseville area. Be praying that God will bring forth the fruit from this event.

7. July 20 – Beacon Church Preview Service

Bryce Burditt is leading a new church plant in the Folsom area. He and the launch team have been busy with outreach events leading up to their initial public preview service, including things such as: Interest Parties, Xtreme Wiffleball, and ongoing gatherings like Mom’s Park Days, Family Hikes, Women’s Walking Group, Pickleball Nights, Run Club, and Boba Outings.

As they approach their initial service Bryce has asked us to pray for them specifically in these areas:

  • Endurance for their team
  • More opportunities to share the gospel
  • For a firm agreement to be settled on with their meeting location

8. THANK YOU

Without you and your participation and support, the association, as we know it, would not be able to function. Your support of the association makes it possible for us to partner with these ministries and events as we seek to reach new people for Jesus, and help encourage and equip our leaders to better fulfill their ministry to the Kingdom of God. So let me simply say THANK YOU!
