AB 2943 threatens free speech & religious liberty
By now you know about AB 2943, the latest attack on the First Amendment to come out of Sacramento. California Family Council is working around the clock with our local, state, and national allies to oppose this dangerous legislation.

Video of Califorian State Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi

That's why I need your help!

Here are two ways you can make a difference:

  1. CONTACT YOUR SENATOR! Using our special Stop2943.com website, send a letter to your legislator urging them to VOTE NO on this dangerous assault on our liberties. Once you've done so, share Stop2943.com with others you know in California!
  2. COME TO THE CAPITOL! Next Tuesday, May 15, citizens from across the state will gather on the north steps of our Capitol for California Family Council's "Day of Action." You can find out more at the event page on Facebook and RSVP using this form.

5 Simple Ways We Can Show Appreciation to Ministry Volunteers By
All pastors and church staff depend on volunteers to keep the gears of ministry turning. Only a bad leader thinks volunteers are not necessary; a foolish leader treats them that way.

We love to relate stories of people who have served in the nursery for 50 years because they love those babies. We know, though, such volunteers—blessing they are—are few. Many volunteers are serving for the same reason they ended up coaching their kid’s softball team: no one else was available or no one else would do it.

Today’s ministry volunteers—even among those who genuinely sense a call to lead a Sunday School/LifeGroup—are often faced with already-overflowing calendars before they say “yes” to that last volunteer opportunity we are trying to fill.

I’m personally better at some of these ideas than others, but I’m striving toward the mark because all of them are important.

11 Church Volunteer Recruitment Ideas from Life.Church
“The church was designed to be primarily a volunteer organization. The power of the church truly is the power of everybody, as men and women, young and old, offer their gifts to work out God’s redemptive plan.” —Bill Hybels

Did you catch that?

The power of your church lies within your attenders finding their place to serve and contribute to the mission.

When your attenders serve the Lord with the gifts He’s given them, your church can accomplish all that God has called you to.
It’s our responsibility as pastors and church leaders to help our attenders see their potential, use their God-given gifts, and grow in their leadership.

At Life.Church we say “We don’t recruit volunteers; we release leaders.” Your attenders are leaders, not just free help. These tips will help you find, train, and keep the leaders God has placed in your church.

How To Get Church Volunteers

So, how do you find church volunteers? Churches of every size ask this question. Here are a few church volunteer recruitment ideas you may want to consider.

  1. Start relationships.
  2. Be passionate.
  3. Know what you need.
  4. Cast vision about the role.
  5. Don’t say “no” for them.
  6. Ask your current volunteers to recruit for you.

How to Encourage Volunteers in the Church

Now that you’ve recruited leaders for your ministry, the best part begins. Continue to build relationships with your volunteers and help them grow—in their faith and as leaders.

Here are a few ways your volunteers can feel needed and known:

  1. Connect them with others.
  2. Say thank you often.
  3. Pray for them.
  4. See more in them than they see in themselves.
  5. Embrace friction.
